Do You Know Little Diamond, Your Mother's A Star?
By Jane Holliday
Beautiful from birth a diamond as bright as the rest
Playing in the garden with your big brothers, they're the best
The biscuit tin you would find, no need for a map
Beautiful awake and when having a nap
In just one minute lives were changed from happiness to deep pain
None of us could believe that on this earth, we wouldn't see you again,
Yes for your man the blur and the pain went on and on,
Her strength carrying her through because you'd gone
You would have been proud of your mam if you were looking down
not burying her head behind a bitter frown
She's done you proud, staying strong for the rest
However short your time, to have you we were blessed
Mam, dad, big brothers, family and friends, so loved by them all
What a big impact you made, even though you were so small
You were too young to leave us, that's the truth
Gone your childhood and your youth
Your mam, little diamond, had more strength than we knew
She needed to, there was so much to get through
She has been with you every second since that day
In her heart and dreams forever you'll stay
You know you will always be a sparkle in your mam's eye
Because you are the diamond, that's her little guy
This one thing I know for sure, you and your mam will never be apart,
Cos you're in the closest, safest place, secure in her heart.
